INTERNSHIPS

Internships represent a cumulative total of 11 months over the 5 years of training (preparatory cycle + DEP course).

During the first two years of the preparatory cycle, these courses are known as ‘ouvrier’ (worker) courses. Each lasts 8 weeks and takes place in France or abroad in botanical gardens, nurseries or outstanding gardens. The aim is to familiarise students with the world of plants, their production and maintenance.

The internships corresponding to the first two years of the DEP course last 8 and 10 weeks. Students may choose the order in which they wish to complete these two placements, but both must be carried out, one with a project management organisation (private architectural, landscaping or urban planning practices) and one with a project owner (public bodies, urban communities, municipal technical services, CAUE – Council for Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment, etc.).

All internships are the subject of a graded report, and the 12-week work placement in the 3rd and final year also includes an oral presentation, which is also graded.
