DIPLÔME D’ÉTAT IN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
The École de la Nature et du Paysage is a department of INSA Centre Val de Loire under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Following a decree dated 8 April 2016, INSA Centre Val de Loire is authorised to offer training leading to the Diplôme d’État (national degree) in Landscape Architecture. Another decree, dated 19 April 2016, confers the grade of Master’s degree on holders of the Diplôme d’État in Landscape Architecture from the 2019 graduating cohort onwards. At the end of the course, students receive a DEP (Diplôme d’Etat de Paysagiste) from INSA Centre Val de Loire, which is awarded at Master’s level.
The degree therefore consists of several parts, the main of which is centred around the landscape project in the form of the travail de fin d’étude (TFE – the final year project), which includes:
- a preliminary assessment panel.
- a dissertation for a final degree project.
- a public defence of the TFE in front of a panel made up of lecturers, representatives of the contracting authority, professionals and former graduates.
Students develop their final year project (TFE), supervised by lecturers from the École de la Nature et du Paysage and professionals involved in landscape issues.
These are supplemented by seminars providing an introduction to research, stakeholder strategies in landscape projects and professional organisations.
Finally, a minimum three-month internship is followed by a written report and oral presentation.
